Syndesmotome, Chompret | sickle-shaped curved, long

The syndesmotome program according to Chompret comprises 4 instruments with variyng attachments each, which may be used depending upon the requirements of the procedure. This instrument is often used as a lifting tool (elevator) as well, such as when a tooth is luxated from the alveoli. Without question, the most widely used syndesmotome is the curved, sickle-shaped one, with which a tooth may be seized, i.e. the tooth is seized between the two roots in the alveolar area, and “lifted” out using leverage. The tip must be extremely durable, to prevent complications.
